Sound of Football Podcast 508 - The relegated and the unregulated

This week we discuss a selection of unsurprising things: England being rubbish, the Government going back on its word, and Watford replacing a manager.

England's defeat to Italy on Friday has condemned Gareth Southgate's men to relegation to the second tier of the competition, when it's next run in 2024. Should we care, beyond the lack of form in the build up to the main event, the World Cup?

Far more concerning than England's performance in a competition few people care about, is the news that the findings of the far-reaching fan-led review of football will not be seeing the light of day any time soon. The Government, under new Prime Minister Liz Truss, appears to be showing no sign of going ahead with the White Paper which appears to counter her platform of deregulation.
