Sound of Football Podcast 377 - Road to Baku
The 10th season of the Sound of Football draws to close with the play-offs complete and just the big European finals left to play. In a season where questions have been asked about the ethics of fossil-fuel finances in the game, the decision to play the Europa League Final in the oil-rich Azerbaijan capital Baku has angered many fans unable to attend.
Are fans' complaints justified or are UEFA within their rights to make sure show-piece finals are spread across the continent even if those hosts cannot sensibly cater for fans who want to be there?
Graham, Terry and Jan also look at the season as a whole for their own clubs. Is 5th place and the Europa League final enough for Arsenal? Should Palace be striving for more than safety? Can a somewhat hoarse Jan find positives in a season that saw Sunderland suffer Wembley disappointment twice.
