Sound of Football Podcast 358 - Racism and the media

It's almost 15 years since Ron Atkinson's career-ending remark into a hot mic laid out in the open just how accepted racist comments and beliefs were in football. Given what we've seen this week, has anything changed in that time?

Raheem Sterling's measured response to the treatment he received at Chelsea at the weekend clearly lays the blame at a section of the media that at best seem ignorant of their deep-seated racism.

In all honesty, as three middle-aged, white men there's probably little that Graham, Terry and Jan can meaningfully contribute to a discussion about racism. But there's plenty we can contribute regarding media and fan responsibilities in this matter.
