Sound of Football Podcast 312 - The managerial merry-go-round 2017
The managerial merry-go-round is spinning again. Just weeks after Leicester and Everton part ways with their manager, both West Ham and Sunderland have seen fit to follow suit. Much has been said recently at lack of the opportunities for promising British coaches but is that down to the influx of foreign coaches or more down to the fact that after sacking a manager, chairman want the calm, steadying influence of an Allardyce, a Hodgson or even a Moyes?
Are the jobs going to the right people? Is there a balance to be struck between pragmatism and progression?
Taking Jan's club Sunderland as our ready example, Graham and Terry join him to look at the names topping the betting for their new head coach. Can we find any logic in those names being there, or can we offer any alternatives that would be better and, more importantly, would actually want it?
