Sound of Football Podcast 216 - Going fourth
Despite the recent failings of English clubs in Europe a look at the UEFA coeffecient table sees England sitting second, still just slightly ahead of Germany and a huge 13 points ahead of Italy in fourth. Though with three Italian sides left in the competitions there is the potential for that gap to shrink to just a quarter of a ranking point by the start of next season — the equivalent of a single win. This could see season 2015/16 as a year long play-off for a fourth Champions League place.
This week, Jan, Terry and Graham discuss how losing a Champions League spot would affect the Premier League — especially with the recent announcement that UEFA would be providing even even more money to those competing in it.
Also discussed is the FSF's campaign for fairer wealth distribution and of course there's another round of Top Trumps.
